Dr. Noor Jihan Abdul-Haqq
Dr. Noor Jihan Abdul-Haqq is a board-certified pediatrician who is an Oklahoma native. She attended Carl Albert High School and the Oklahoma School of Science and Mathematics. In 2004, she graduated Magna Cum Laude from Spelman College in Atlanta, GA with a bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry.
She then matriculated through the Morehouse School of Medicine, where she was active with various medical organizations and took advantage of opportunities to work in the Dominican Republic and Mexico. She completed her M.D. in 2008 and was awarded the Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine award. In 2011, she received a Practitioner of Excellence Award from the Sisters United Organization for professional development and community service. Dr. Abdul-Haqq has presented numerous times on KVSP 92.1 FM The Open Mic Show as well as for local health fairs and initiatives.
Dr. Abdul-Haqq completed her Pediatric Residency with the Morehouse School of Medicine, where she trained at the 3 major Children’s Hospitals (CHOA) and began working in the Atlanta area in private practice and urgent care. She returned to Oklahoma in 2012 to give back to the community that had given her so much. Dr. Abdul-Haqq opened Peace of Mind Pediatrics in Sept of 2015.
She and her husband are the proud parents to 3 wonderful children.
Courtney Tennent
Courtney Tennent, MSN, CPNP-PC, has dedicated over 20 years to caring for children and their families.
She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Oklahoma City University in 2002, launching her into a role in neonatal intensive care at a Children’s Hospital.
Eager to expand her abilities, Courtney completed a Master of Science in Nursing from Stony Brook University in 2008, becoming a certified pediatric nurse practitioner focused on general pediatrics. However, her neonatal intensive care and emergency pediatric service experience proved invaluable in the clinic setting.
In the 15 years since, Courtney has gained extensive experience in Texas and Oklahoma clinics performing patient assessments, diagnoses, preventive interventions, and urgent care according to approved evidence-based protocols.
We are excited that Courtney has joined us at Peace of Mind Pediatrics and is now accepting new patients with private insurance and Sooner Care. At Peace of Mind, Courtney continues providing compassionate and comprehensive care to help children thrive at our Del City and NW Oklahoma City locations.
Courtney lives in Norman and likes traveling, spending time with friends and family, and cheering on the Sooners!
