Peace of Mind Pediatrics

A family owned company, Peace of Mind Pediatrics is the dream of a former Carl Albert Titan and Oklahoma School of Science and Math alumna.

Dr. Noor Jihan Abdul-Haqq believes that the key to improved health is a focus on provider-patient relationships. A partnership of sorts to keep your child or adolescent happy and well. With this approach, we make taking young family members to the doctor a peaceful experience for residents of the greater Oklahoma City area.

Peace of Mind Pediatrics is hands on in our quest to keep the youth of Oklahoma City healthy.

Dr. Noor Jihan Abdul-Haqq is a board certified pediatrician who is an Oklahoma native. She  attended both  Carl Albert High School and the Oklahoma School of Science and Mathematics. In 2004, she graduated Magna Cum Laude from Spelman College in Atlanta, GA with a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry.

She then matriculated through the Morehouse School of Medicine where she was active with various medical organizations and was able to take advantage of opportunities to work in the Dominican Republic and Mexico.  She completed her M.D. in 2008 and was awarded the Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine award. In 2011 she received a Practitioner of Excellence Award from Sisters United Organization for her professional development and community service.

Dr. Abdul-Haqq completed her Pediatric Residency with the Morehouse School of Medicine where she trained at the three major Children’s Hospitals (CHOA) and began working in the Atlanta area in both private practice and urgent care. She returned home to Oklahoma in 2012 to give back to the community that had given her so much.

She and her husband are the proud parents to three wonderful children.

Elna Sam was born in Kuwait, and has lived in Oklahoma since she was 8 years old. A product of Putnam City district elementary, middle school and high schools, Elna went on to graduate from the Southwestern Oklahoma State University in 2012 with a bachelors degree in nursing.

Elna then gained experience in Pediatric and adult vaccine research, the Pediatric ICU, Neonatal ICU and Adult ICU. In 2018, she obtained her master’s degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch. In 2019, Elna moved back home to be closer to family and is thrilled to serve as a Nurse Practitioner in the state that she grew up in.

Elna considers it the highest honor and privilege to be entrusted to care for someone’s child. She has a daughter of her own that has gone through health challenges and empathizes with the challenges of having a child with acute and chronic illness.

Elna lives in Oklahoma City with her husband and daughter. In her free time, she enjoys watching funny movies, painting, reading, and starting DIY projects that don’t always get finished 😄

Carli Morrisett is a graduate of Woodward High School, where she was a standout basketball and soccer star. Upon graduating, Carli received the prestigious Golden W Award for maintaining the highest GPA in her class and took her talents to Oklahoma Christian University.

While at OCU, Carli continued to play basketball but found that her true passion was for healthcare. She set her sights on becoming a nurse and once again graduated at the top of her class.

Later, while working as an RN at the Oklahoma Heart Hospital, Carli decided to continue her healthcare education. She enrolled in Oklahoma City University, where she obtained her Doctorate of Nursing Practice, specializing in Family Medicine.

True to her form in the classroom and on the court, Carli has hit the ground running at POMP. Whether drawing from experience to help young athletes achieve peak physical condition or donning the white bodysuit to test a child for COVID-19 in their car seat, Carli has proven to be a standout healthcare provider.
